Rabbi Jem Golden was reared in a conservative Jewish home. His father was a career Air Force officer and his mother was the daughter of an Army general. Rabbi Golden is a Viet-Nam veteran, having served three tours of duty. After serving in the U.S. Navy for 4 years, and in the U S. Army for 8 years, he experienced a life-changing event that began a search for God that lasted several years. He accepted Yeshua as the Messiah in 1985. In 1987, he started his rabbinical studies, and in 1994 he became a Messianic Rabbi.
Rabbi Golden led congregations in Pensacola, Florida, Covington Louisiana, and Slidell, Louisiana before coming to Brevard County. He married the love of his life, Gail, in 2006 and together they are in ministry at Ma'gen Da'vid Messianic Synagogue.
Rabbi Golden has traveled extensively, and has a deeply diverse background of experience, and a love of history that he weaves into his teaching of the Torah. His deep love and understanding of people enables him to be a kind, caring minister and leader of his congregation. His wife Gail says, “Rabbi Jem not only teaches the Torah, he lives it.”
